"Staged to sell; designed to dwell", is an expression in the home decorating world, and it describes one northern Virginia business perfectly—Bridgett Wilson Designs.
Based in Gainesville, Bridgett Wilson Designs owner, Bridgett Wilson explains, "Are you getting ready to sell your home and looking for ways to help it sell quickly, for a good price? That's the 'staged to sell' part of my decorating business."
Among her services, Wilson offers a one-hour 'Walk and Talk Consultation' where she walks through soon-to-be-on-the-market homes with owners. As they go from room to room, they discuss ways to stage each room when selling. Bridgett creates a list of suggestions, and then emails it to the homeowner for them to do.
The goals of home staging are to attract potential owners, and show off key features of the home; this is what the homeowner and Wilson discuss during a consultation. "I approach home selling from a decorating point-of-view," Wilson says.

Bridgett also offers staging packages where she stages rooms or whole homes. "My kitchen and bathrooms staging package is very popular," she states.
Switching gears, Wilson decorates and redesigns homes for homeowners, too. "I do paint color consultations, drapes, furniture selection, placement, and hang art for clients looking to create a beautiful home for themselves and their families," Wilson says.
"When decorating a home for a client who wants to update their existing or new home, add color or create a cohesive style, I'm working on the 'design to dwell' concept," Wilson comments. "I believe it's important to live in a nice space. I believe that every home can be beautifully decorated on a budget," she summarizes.
Bridgett specializes in interior redesign, home staging, color consultation and decorating.
