Here are some real estate market trends YTD 2017 – January to June – in Haymarket and Gainesville, VA …

We continue to see very positive increases in Haymarket and Gainesville for Sold Homes and Median Sold Price. The market trends YTD 2017 are also strong throughout the Northern Virginia and Prince William County region.

The exceptional data is in the Median Days on the Market, which decreased substantially this year so far compared to the first half of last year. New Listings are going up so this may change things as we go through the summer into the fall.

I’d like to point out the Sold Homes by Price Range. I made note of this in my last newsletter and it’s important to understand when we see statistics that are so encouraging, yet don’t always apply to the higher priced homes. The majority of homes sales in our area is still under $600,000.

However, June was a better month for higher priced homes in Haymarket and Gainesville because 1/3 of homes sold in this range all year, were in that month.
